In 1961, The City Gardens Club established a Citation to be presented to a person who has made a significant contribution to the preservation and enhancement of the natural beauty of our country. Doug will receive TÌìÃÀÓ°Ôº Citation for his body of work over 33 years with The Central Park Conservancy including 14 years as President and CEO. His appointment as a Founding Trustee of the Conservancy speaks volumes. Doug’s work in Central Park has made it what it is today. People come from around the world to study and enjoy this Green Space in the middle of Manhattan. While Doug was President, nearly $1 billion was invested in transformative restoration projects. His innovative management style set the worldwide standard for urban park management.
