The application for 2025 Scholarship Programs are closed.
Mission: The Scholarship Committee’s mission is to award NYC public school science teachers scholarships to attend professional, activity-oriented ecology, plant science and gardening programs to enhance classroom learning. Scholarships are awarded to select horticultural and Audubon Society programs. To this end committee members:
- Research and select program providers
- Publicize scholarship availabilities
- Review applications
- Select recipients
Eligibility: Selections are based on application quality and principal’s recommendation. Science teachers in New York City public K, elementary, middle and high schools in all five boroughs are eligible to apply. Preference is given to teachers in Title One schools. CGC scholarships cover:
- Full tuition
- 鈥淧鈥 in-service credit fees where applicable
- Required course materials where applicable
- Room and board where required
Teachers cover their own transportation costs for local programs.
