2026 Forum Information

The Environmental Forum Committee of TÌìÃÀÓ°Ôº is dedicated to presenting annual educational forums on critical environmental issues for a broad audience, including CGC members, the general public, and recipients of our grants, scholarships, and Nature Kits.

Our next Forum will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026. Our Forum is dedicated solely to fulfilling our educational mission and is not intended as a fundraising event. This is a hybrid event.

Panelists will Include:

Hunter Armstrong, Executive Director of the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative

HUNTER ARMSTRONG is Executive Director of Brooklyn Greenway Initiative. Focused on planning, advocacy, and community involvement, BGI includes both the Naval Cemetery Landscape public space, historic site and pollinator meadow, and NYC Greenways Coalition comprised of over 50 groups in all five boroughs.

Jennifer Beaugrand, Founder and Executive Director of The Bronx is Blooming

JENNIFER BEAUGRAND is the Founder and Executive Director of The Bronx is Blooming, a nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental stewardship, community building, and youth leadership development by providing jobs to teenagers, engaging with volunteers, and working on greenspaces and parks.

Lynn Kelly, Executive Director New York Restoration Project

LYNN B. KELLY is the Executive Director of the New York Restoration Project (NYRP), a nonprofit organization founded by Bette Midler that partners with local communities, public agencies, and the private sector to acquire, create, and maintain high-quality public green spaces throughout  New York city.

Matt Malina, Executive Director and Founder, NYC H2O

MATT MALINA is the Founder and Executive Director of NYC H2O, a nonprofit environmental education organization focused on restoring and expanding freshwater wetland habitats. A major focus of NYC H2O has been leading a dynamic coalition of community groups to protect and preserve the Ridgewood Reservoir in Queens.

Lucy Rubino, Director of the NYC Parks Plant Ecology Center and Nursery (affectionately known as PECAN and formerly known as the Greenbelt Native Plant Center)

LUCY RUBINO is Director of PECAN, NYC’s Plant Ecology Center and Nursery, on Staten Island. PECAN’s 13-acre facility provides native plants and seeds for the restoration and enhancement of NYC’s green spaces and natural areas. It’s production space includes 6 greenhouses and a Seed Bank with over 600 local species. ÌýÌý
